Lector Training
Those interested in becoming a lector for any of the Masses at St. John are invited to attend a lector training meeting on January 23rd at 7pm in the church.
St. John LINK
The Lawrence Interdenominational Nutrition Kitchen (LINK) is located at First Christian Church, 1000 Kentucky, and provides nutritious meals to 150 people in need. St. John helps LINK by rotating with other churches to furnish food and volunteers.
The next opportunity for St. John is Tuesday, January 31st. If you can help contribute to LINK, start by getting a Link Volunteer Form here!
Knights of Columbus Superbowl Party
The Knights of Columbus will host a Superbowl Party on February 5 at the Knights Hall, located at 2206 E. 23rd St.
There will also be a Pot Luck Chili Cook-off!! So be sure to bring your favorite recipes and/or toppings.
The Hall will open one hour before kickoff. Hope to see you there!
Marriage Panel
The Call to Marriage: Is it for me? | February 12, 2011 | 6-8pm in the Church Basement
Come enjoy a meal and get ready for Valentine’s Day by asking all of your burning questions about marriage to a panel of married couples!! The first 45 minutes we’ll spend all together and you’ll have a chance to ask questions of the couples, and then the last 30 minutes we’ll break apart into male-female groups to go deeper into the nature of man and the nature of woman. Come learn more about YOUR vocation within the Church by attending this evening of fun!!
Adoramus te Domine: Praise ‘n’ Worship Adoration
Come pray with and for our youth during this hour of adoration every two weeks. If you’ve never been to adoration before, never fear! There are “How to Make a Holy Hour” brochures available, and you won’t regret coming to sit in silence with our Lord; it truly is amazing.
Adoration will be held from 7:30-8:30pm in the Church on the following days this coming semester: January 15, February 1, February 19, March 7, April 4, and April 15.
Virtus Training Session
Virtus is required training for all adults who work with or plan to work with children or youth of our parish. The next session hosted by St. John parish will be held on Thursday, March 8, at 6:30pm in room 205 of the school building.
