St. John Catholic School Marathon Club

The fall session of Marathon Club begins Wednesday August 20th and ends Wednesday, November 5th. Spring session will run from March 4th–May 13th. Running times will be Monday afternoons from 3:40 p.m.–4:20 p.m and Wednesday mornings from 7:15 a.m.–7:55 a.m.

What Is Marathon Club?

The goal of the St. John Marathon Club is to provide a sustainable fitness opportunity for St. John students and their families. Kids participating will be challenged to achieve a full marathon distance of 26.2 miles by walking or running once or twice a week throughout the school year. All mileage is tracked when students attend. As soon as students have completed a full marathon, they will be recognized in the school newsletter. In addition, it is our hope that Marathon Club will:

  • Promote lifelong wellness
  • Provide students a sense of accomplishment
  • Create a fun, non-competitive atmosphere for all participants
  • Improve concentration in the classroom

Days and Times to Log Mileage

Marathon Club will run from August 20th through November 5th. Please make note of running days and times:

Monday Afternoons: 3:40–4:20 p.m.
Wednesday Mornings: 7:15–7:55 a.m.

We know that your kids may be active in other activities at St. John School and/or within the community. It is our hope that kids can run at least one time/week to achieve their running goals. We hope this will enable all kids interested to participate.

We Need Volunteers!

We can’t do this without your help. We need volunteers to help with check-in and check-out, as well as on the course while kids are running. Volunteer times are as follows:

Monday Afternoons: 3:30–4:30 p.m.
Wednesday Mornings: 7:05–8:05 a.m.
