Religion Classes

Religion Classes

Religion classes are part of the daily schedule at Saint John School. During these classes, the children come to understand what we believe as Catholics and how to live out those beliefs.

The four pillars of the Catechism of the Catholic Church – Creed, Sacraments, Morality, and Prayer – are taught and developed on every grade level every year. This ensures that the beliefs of our faith are introduced to and reinforced for the young people as they grow, develop, and mature in their Faith.

Answers to some questions you might have:

  • Second grade students study the sacraments of Reconciliation and Eucharist as part of their curriculum.
  • The entire school attends Mass every Thursday. Religion classes take turns planning this weekly Mass.
  • Special religious services are also planned such as daily Advent prayer services and reenactment of the Stations of the Cross.
