St. John School Parent-Teacher Organization
The St. John School Parent-Teacher Organization is designed to assist the school Principal with community building and stewardship efforts. To this end, this organization will plan social activities for school families and coordinate volunteer efforts for both in-and-out-of -school service programs.
In addition, this organization is called upon to assist with fundraising events and activities. Fundraising efforts should be consistent with those noted in Archdiocesan Guidelines for School Fundraising.

PTO plans several activities throughout the school year for the students and their families. These activities provide fun opportunities for the students and families of our school. PTO also conducts fund-raisers to augment the St. John Catholic School general operating budget.
PTO normally meets once a month. Meeting dates and times appear on this page and in the Principal’s Weekly Newsletter. All parents/guardians are encouraged to attend these meetings for information and input.

The 5K Eagle Run is held in May. The course runs through the streets and parks of Lawrence. The race is open to the public. Entry fee includes official timing and t-shirt.
The Innisbrook fundraiser is a great way for PTO to raise money for our school. The Innisbrook catalogs feature wrapping paper, chocolates, and gift items. Students receive a packet of information about 10 days after school starts. Students are encouraged to share the packet with family, friends, and neighbors.
PTO receives 50% of all Innisbrook sales and all proceeds help fund the many basic needs of our school. You can order items from Innisbrook, 365 days a year and 24 hours a day, on-line at www.innisbrook.com. Our school ID # is 118627. For more information, please contact Mrs. Linda Alexander.
During Parent-Teacher Conferences (Oct and Feb), PTO provides an opportunity for parents and students to browse through an excellent selection of children’s literature provided by Scholastic Book Company. There are books available for all ages including fun literature for teenagers and adults.
Our school librarian, Ms. Karen Rinke, hand picks each book with everyone in mind. Teachers often provide a Wish List of books they want for their classrooms, and parents/students may purchase these books to help show their support for a current or former teacher. Book Fair is a fundraiser that helps support books needed for our school library. Contact Ms. Rinke to volunteer.
Volunteers are needed to help plan Halloween, Christmas, and Valentine Parties for the children. Homeroom parties occur at 10:45am for Kindergarten AM and 2:50pm for Kindergarten PM and Preschool through 5th grades. (Times for Middle School grades TBA.)
Preschool parents are encouraged to contact Mrs. Johnson, Preschool Teacher, to see how you can help with Preschool Parties.
Bingo night is a fun time for students, parents, and teachers to come together for a fun night of B-I-N-G-O. PTO provides prizes for the bingo winners.
This event is open to all children of St. John School and Church.

This is a longstanding tradition at St. John each year. It’s a great way to help end the school year with friends and classmates.
St. John uses the email “ Volunteer Spot “ to ask for parents to volunteer for events and needs of the school.
