We welcome energetic, faith-filled volunteers to help serve our middle school youth. If that is you, read on! Middle school youth nights, known as THE ROCK, are Wednesdays from 7:00-8:30 p.m. throughout the school year. With a little set-up and clean-up time, this translates to a time commitment of about 2 hours a week for our teaching team members, plus another 3 hours of planning time (preparing for the week’s lesson, etc.). There may be special events or outings for the youth group (football game, Worlds of Fun, service trips, etc.) that we ask you to attend as well.
If you want to help out but are unable to fit Wednesday nights into your schedule, we have other opportunities for you to be involved! Frequently special events will be planned for our students and we will need chaperons or drivers. Be a part of our Mercy Team and you can help coordinate monthly service opportunities for our students. Are you musical? Our music ministry team leads students in worship and is always looking for new members!
Finally, if you can’t make the Wednesday night THE ROCK meetings, you might consider helping out with our High School Youth Group that primarily meets on Sunday nights. We’d love to have you there, as well!
Below is a sign-up form for the middle school youth group. Fill it out and return it to Jen Meitl Conrad or drop it by the Simon Parish Center at 1229 Vermont St. If you have questions, contact Jen at or call/text her at (785) 766-6189. Thank you for your interest!
Volunteers should be 18 years or older. The successful candidates must have a commitment to working with both youth and adults as well as an ability to plan and implement programs within their specific areas. Training and assistance will be provided throughout the time of service!
